Students can complete their second and subsequent years of study either on a full-time internal or on a part-time external basis with an employer with a cadetship. The major completed will appear on the academic record and testamur. For external study contact the UNE Student Centre. |

Normal admission requirements apply. Assumed knowledge is Mathematics and recommended studies in Chemistry and/or Physics. For students without the recommended background knowledge, the Faculty offers a Foundation unit in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. |

Credit Point RequirementsTo qualify for the award a candidate shall complete a total of 144 credit points of which at least 108 credit points must be completed from units offered by the University of New England. Period of CandidatureThe maximum period of candidature shall be 5 years as a full-time candidate and 10 years as a part-time candidate. |

Positions in local government working in water supply and sewerage; road and bridge design and construction; waste management and disposal; environmental control, planning and development; parks and gardens; with consultants working in design and project management of environmental, local government, agricultural, major transport infrastructure projects, etc.; in the mining industry in infrastructure development, environmental control and rehabilitation works. |

The program is designed to enable students to complete the second and third years on a part-time off-campus basis. Those students completing in this way will have the opportunity to apply their university studies in a work environment whilst using the skills of the work environment to enhance their university studies. BEngTech graduates are eligible to enrol for a range of Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and course work Master programs.

| Honours | There is no Honours year for the Bachelor of Engineering Technology, however, well-qualified graduates may apply to complete the Bachelor of Science with Honours. BSc(Hons) graduates who achieve the appropriate level of Honours are eligible to apply to enrol for a research Master degree or the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). | ||||||||||
