What is the Graduation process?
If you indicated on your enrolment form that you expect to complete your course requirements to qualify for graduation in the March/April Graduation you will be emailed information on how to apply for Graduation by December of the preceding year.
If you indicated on your enrolment form that you expected to complete your course requirements to qualify for graduation in the October Graduation you will be emailed information on how to apply for Graduation by June of the current year.
You must complete the Graduation Application Form and submit it to the Student Centre by the nominated date. Once you have been deemed eligible to graduate, the University will send you information and ask whether you will be attending the graduation ceremony.
If you tell us that you will not be attending the ceremony, your testamur and a copy of your academic record will be forwarded to your nominated address, by Registered Mail (in Australia) and by Security Post (overseas), approximately four weeks following the ceremony.
If you tell us that you are attending the ceremony, you will be given your testamur at the ceremony and a copy of your academic record will be forwarded approximately four weeks following the ceremony. Ceremonies are held on the southern lawns of Booloominbah on the University's Armidale campus. View the Campus Map Ceremonies commence at 10.30am. Registration opens at 8.30am and you are required to register BEFORE 10am. Once registered please do not leave the campus. In extreme weather conditions the ceremony is held in Lazenby Hall.
Notifications will be broadcast on local radio on the day of graduation.
Alternatively, you can ring the Student Centre after 8.00am on the morning of the ceremony. If many students are graduating at the same ceremony, ceremonies are split alphabetically into two. Graduands with surnames from A - J will attend a ceremony in the morning commencing at 10.30am (Registration begins at 8.30am). Graduands with surnames from K - Z will attend a ceremony in the afternoon, commencing at 2.30pm (Registration begins at 1.00pm). For this reason we suggest that you allocate the whole day for graduation.
