Internal Transfer Opportunity

Applications are invited from current permanent and fixed-term staff members of the University (who have been appointed as a result of an advertised position or who have continuously occupied an unadvertised position for more than twelve (12) months at the closing date) for the following position.

Two positions are available for academic staff, at existing Senior Lecturer level, to join the ALTC Promoting Excellence team. The positions are available for a period of 12 months, with possible further appointment, subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Two persons are required, one to be located in each faculty and responsible to the ALTC Contact Officer. Suitable individuals will be required to work part-time (0.3), or negotiated (10) EFTSL replacement. The role is primarily to Promote Excellence in learning and teaching across UNE through the dissemination and support of staff in engagement with ALTC grants and awards. The positions are funded for one year from an ALTC grant with possibility of extension subject to funding and satisfactory performance. These positions also aim to provide professional development and leadership opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing this work. The positions also aim to build capacity amongst staff and limited experience should not be a deterrent.

Position Requirement

• Involvement, where appropriate, in the promotion of links with outside funding, corporate and institutional bodies.
• Preparation of project proposal and award submissions as appropriate with the ALTC.
• Significant role in learning and teaching projects including, where appropriate, leadership of ALTC teams or management of projects.
• Involvement in professional activities including, subject to availability of funds, attendance at conferences and seminars relevant to ALTC activities
• Various ALTC activities-related administrative functions
• Organise and provide professional development activities related to ALTC activities
• Attendance at meetings associated with ALTC activities or the work of the organisational unit to which the activity is connected and/or at departmental and/or Faculty meetings and/or membership of a limited number of committees.

Salary: $84,081 to $96,822 per annum (Senior Lecturer, part-time (0.3) pro rata) - effective from 4 July 2008
plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
