UNE is seeking to appoint an experienced and resourceful data analyst to a challenging and professionally rewarding position in the Planning and Institutional Research group. This position will be responsible for undertaking substantial high-level data analysis, and will work actively with the Business Intelligence section of Information Technology. The person appointed will have the ability to tackle significant data analysis projects, reporting on data of strategic importance to the University in the areas of planning and quality assurance.

The Senior Planning and Quality Data Analyst will work closely with the Director of Planning and Institutional Research and as part of a team in which all members contribute towards intensive data-focussed hands-on data analysis and end user reporting. The incumbent will be expected to interact regularly with senior staff of the University, its faculties, schools, and support sections.

Applicants must have: high order ability to collect and analyse information using numerical and specialist analytical methods; proven expertise and high-order personal skills in the use of computer applications to data analysis and reporting; experience in the preparation of materials for presentation and planning purposes; substantial experience within a policy and management environment, requiring the interpretation of client needs within the parameters and framework of internal and external legislation/requirements.

This position would ideally suit someone who wishes to retain their career focus while also having the desire for a life-style change in beautiful Armidale, New England. Armidale is surrounded by world heritage national parks, is only two hours from the mid north coast and is a unique country town that offers all facilities of a city. Recognised as a centre for culture, Armidale is well served for art, music, theatre and education, both public and private.

Consideration will be given to filling this position on a less than full-time basis. Applicants should indicate their preference for full-time or less than full-time work.

Salary: $67,055 to $77,819 per annum (HEO Level 8)
plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
